The Wild Rose School Board approved the following personnel appointments during an Aug. 8 meeting: Logan Erickson, middle/high school English language arts teacher; Jessica Nelson, middle school math/science teacher; and Laura Rothe, the middle/high school music teacher. Kayla Smiley, Dawn Jewell, and JoNae Apps were approved as volunteer volleyball coaches. Juan Pablo Llovet, Dave Havlovitz, and Greg Ida were approved as volunteer football coaches.
The board accepted the gift of $1,345.31 from the Depot Street Station Spirit Pump.
The board approved student handbooks, Wild Rose Educational Association Teacher, and Wild Rose Educational Support Personnel handbooks.
The board considered staffing assignments and the master schedule, and approved the Staff Development (In-Service) Plan.
The board discussed safety measures and mitigation strategies for the 2022-23 school year, considering other area schools’ practices as well before approving the plan.
A leave of absence request from Jaime Wagner was granted.
Sandie Anderson will serve on the WASB Board of Directors for Region 10.
During the District Administrator’s report it was mentioned that Emily Button was hired as the food service director – lead cook, and that Caleigh Lippert was hired as the bookkeeper/administrative assistant. It was also mentioned that Ruth Rowe resigned as a teacher’s aide.
The next board meetings will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 and Sept. 8.
