The Ellsworth Community School District Board of Education has selected Brian Nadeau to become the district’s next superintendent.
Nadeau is completing his third year as the Superintendent and 6-12 Principal for the Plum City School District. During his tenure with the district, he initiated collaborative teams and implemented a 3K and childcare program. He also engaged stakeholders in strategic planning, led a successful referendum effort, and guided upgrades to safety and security measures.
Prior to his current role, Nadeau held administrative positions as the PK-12 Principal in the Clayton School District, Assistant Principal in Tomah Middle School, and Dean of Students for Hudson Middle School. Nadeau was also a middle school science teacher for 15 years working initially in the New Richmond School District and later as a member of the Viking Middle School staff in the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District.
Nadeau earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education through the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. His Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration was completed at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and his superintendent licensure program at Hamline University.
A Baldwin native, he has coached multiple sports, including football, baseball, softball and basketball.
Nadeau’s wife, Amy, is a teacher in the Prescott School District. They share children Maya, Brenan, Evan and Arianna. He enjoys many hobbies, such as reading, cheering for the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks; hunting, fishing, spending time with their animals and staying active.
Nadeau will begin his new duties as the Ellsworth Community School District superintendent on July 1, 2024, following the retirement of current superintendent, Barry Cain.

Nadeau was selected after the school board completed final interviews April 16. The other two finalists were David Grambow, current assistant superintendent at Hudson School District, and Brian Seguin, assistant superintendent of instruction at Menomonie School District.
