Kiel Board discusses staffing plan

During the Kiel Area School District board meeting on April 17, Administrator Dr. Brad Ebert, Charles Achter and Mackenzi Schwarz presented to the Board of Education members the Preliminary Staffing Plan for the 2024-2025 school year.

The district is looking to hire two student growth coordinators who would be under the direction of Schwarz, the director of teaching and learning. One of the coordinators would be for English/Language Arts and one for Math. The coordinators would prepare student learning data and support staff development. Other possible duties of the student growth coordinator might include instructional coaching, analyzing student learning data, supervising Raider time intervention models and supporting standards-based grading practices.

The Preliminary Staffing Plan also includes adding two part-time paraprofessionals and a Special Education teacher. The district will be finalizing the staffing plan on May 1.

Dr. Ebert reminded people about the third tour of Kiel Middle School on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. The first tour was well attended by 50 to 60 people. A video of the first tour will be posted on the district website, https://www.kiel.k12.wi.us/community/facility-assessment-master-planning.cfm.

District surveys were sent out April 15 and it was noted that the survey company has already received over 300 surveys. Dr. Ebert stated that the community should not photocopy the survey. Extra copies of the survey are available at the District Office. The surveys are due back to by May 6. If community member have any questions or need clarifications, please contact the School District Office at 920-894-2266.
