Eagle River Board of Education Meeting 4/22/24

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. - The current Director of Teaching & Learning at the Eagle River Elementary School has been hired as the school's next elementary principal.

Gretchen Smart-Hall will begin her new position on July 1.

The Board of Education voted to approve Smart-Hall's transfer at its board meeting on April 22.

The current principal of the elementary school, Don Anderson, announced his resignation and will begin his role as Executive Director at the Northwoods Discovery Center.

Previously, Smart-Hall was a teacher in Florida for five years. She joined the Northland Pines School District in 2017.

"The opportunity to work alongside such phenomenal educators, both as a teacher, and now in this new role, fills me with excitement and gratitude," said Smart-Hall.

The Eagle River Elementary School serves 500 students from 4K through 6th grade.
