CFAUSD: Students participate in Kindness Walk in honor of Iliana ‘Lily’ Peters

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - Students at Parkview Elementary recently honored their late friend and fellow student, Iliana ‘Lily’ Peters

The Chippewa Falls School District says the kids participated in a Kindness Walk Thursday where they dressed in purple, which was lily’s favorite color, and walked through the Chippewa Falls Fairgrounds while the Chi-Hi Band cheered them on.

“We really wanted to just give the kids an opportunity to see the good and focus on the positive and really talk about spreading kindness, “Ellen Reilly, Family Support and Resource Coordinator, said.

The Walk was part of a larger kindness initiative, including a poster contest called “Adventures in Kindness,” as well as a seminar for students and parents on conflict resolution.

A Facebook post via the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District Facebook Page states, “Parkview students participated in a Kindness Walk - Scattering Kindness in Lily’s Honor!

Students made posters, wore purple and listened to the Chi-Hi band while walking through the fairgrounds.”
