WBC Offering 'Beef in the Classroom' Education Grants
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/25/2021

The Wisconsin Beef Council is again helping high school teachers strengthen their lessons about beef selection and preparation with their students. The group is holding its next round of 'Beef in the Classroom' grants, in which agriculture and family & consumer science instructors can apply for reimbursement of $100 to $300 per school per year to cover the cost of such efforts.

As part of the program guidelines, only beef products may be purchased with the money. And those products may only be used in a classroom or lab setting, and not for the purpose of school social functions.

During the first sign-up period last year, nearly 80 applications were received from teachers with WBC pre-approving over $11,000 in grants to support beef learning opportunities for over 5,000 students.

For more information or to apply for an education grant, contact the Wisconsin Beef Council at 608-833-9941. The deadline to apply is October 30.
