SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – A special meeting of the Sheboygan Area School District Board to decide how and when to resume in-person instruction has been delayed one week. The announcement came in a letter to parents from Superintendent Seth Harvatine.
Harvatine explained that there is an opportunity to attend a working session with Dr. Dimitri Christakis, the director of the Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development at Seattle Children’s Research Institute. He will be accompanied by a group of teachers, administrators, parents, local healthcare providers, and board president David Gallianetti. It’s expected that information gathered there will better inform any decisions on returning to the classrooms in January.
The Board’s recommendations will be presented at the December 22nd board meeting. Meanwhile, parents are encouraged to fill out the survey posted at the district’s website if they haven’t already done so.
