The School District of Menomonee Falls (SDMF) announced that it will temporarily shift to virtual learning starting Nov. 30 through Dec. 4 to help reduce community spread of COVID-19.

Menomonee Falls district is the latest to go virtual after Thanksgiving break, following the Kenosha Unified School District and others.

"Our decision to adjust the learning model after Thanksgiving is based on a number of factors, including burden rate, percent positive rate in our community, our ability to contact trace, the number of students and staff who need to be quarantined or isolated, absenteeism of staff and students," the district put out in a statement.

SDMF will continue hybrid learning the week of Nov. 23-24.

The switch will begin following Thanksgiving break on Nov. 30.

The school district did say that it plans to return to the current model following "this proactive step".
