Beyond Brady Bunch Grids: Innovative Alternatives to Zoom
April 9, 2021
About the Event
Looking for innovative alternatives to Zoom? How else can you replicate a cozy lounge or a professional discussion online? Although it looks like we are starting to come through the pandemic, virtual and hybrid events are here to stay. There are all kinds of new virtual platforms popping up. These services have evolved beyond Zoom including offering options to listen or converse in engaging environments while accommodating multiple conversations. For example, with these solutions to "Zoom Fatigue," the host decides if the attendee can listen across a virtual space or only hear guests close to them. These spaces mimic physical proximity and offer attendees a more unique, yet familiar, experience among the standard choices: Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc. Join us this Friday at 1 pm EDT "Beyond Brady Bunch Grids" for the U.S. Assn for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (USASBE) hosted by our Centers & Institutes SIG. We will review a few platforms in-depth and provide names of additional interesting ones to check out. We will walk through a couple of the platforms from 2-2:30 pm EDT after the formal presentation for a hands-on look. The Centers and Institutes Social Interest Group The Center and Institutes SIG's purpose is to promote cooperation between Center/Institute Directors and Staff, Universities, and Community groups in planning, funding and successfully launching entrepreneurship programs serving students and community members. The SIG also supports career development of those in the non-tenure track while identifying best practices and supporting program innovation. Membership is open to any USASBE member who is interested in learning more about and/or participating in collaborations in entrepreneurship education.
