Emotional crying is a common and inherently social phenomenon crucial to understanding a wealth of social processes ranging from social cognition to intergroup relations. The meeting aims to connect scholars interested in emotional crying by offering them a unique possibility to share and integrate their expertise, and ultimately build a more comprehensive knowledge of the social role of emotional tears and other crying behaviors. We invite researchers representing diverse theoretical approaches, methodologies, and disciplines.
