Document Security Alliance invites you to their event

DSA Meeting - September

About this event

This presentation will focus on the work of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) New Technologies Working Group (NTWG) to develop specifications for a globally-interoperable digital passport – the digital travel credential (DTC). Much like a regular passport, the DTC would contain the biographic and biometric data of the bearer in a secure envelope. Unlike a regular passport however, the DTC could be sent and inspected in advance of travel, opening many opportunities for enhanced traveller screening and facilitation. The presentation will close with a high-level description of use cases for the DTC and the benefits that it offers.

As a major global development, the DTC has the potential to transform many of the processes in travel from travel authorization application to streamlined border management. The DTC is a long-awaited technology that will inevitably change the way that travellers are processed in many of the elements of the travel continuum. Equipped with secure and reliable biometric and biographic data, the DTC can make the travel experience more convenient, while bolstering integrity.
